Advocates for women who start their own businesses are becoming more vocal about insurance costs for small businesses and the gender gap in coverage as the debate over health care reform continues. Congress cannot afford to ignore 10.1 million female entrepreneurs, says NAWBO’s chairwoman-elect, Kelly Scanlon. “Small businesses generate 70% of new jobs in the U.S., so Congress must take action if it hopes to jump-start the economy,” Scanlon said.
