Text from proclamation:
State of Texas Office of the Governor
Throughout our great state, women make immeasurable contributions in all sectors of our economy and society. Women are leaders in communities and businesses across Texas, and their innovation and achievements have helped enrich Texas in many ways.
Texas’ hardworking business women possess invaluable expertise, impressive drive and the characteristic ingenuity of this great state. They have been at the forefront of the fight for equality in the workplace, and, despite obstacles, they have achieved the highest levels of success.
For a week in March, an awareness campaign will be conducted to recognize the many contributions of women in Texas’ businesses.
At this time, I encourage all Texans to pay tribute to hardworking women throughout the Lone Star State.
Therefore, I, Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, do hereby proclaim March 21-27, 2010,
Business Women’s Week
In Texas, and urge the appropriate recognition whereof.
In official recognition whereof, I hereby affix my signature this the 16th day of February, 2020. Governor of Texas, Rick Perry
