About Tom Ferguson:
An engineer by education, but a people person by nature, Tom’s professional development evolved along two tracks — one designed to honor his academic training and the other to consummate his passion for people. Prior to starting Visible Applause, Inc. in 1997, Tom’s professional career systematically evolved along a somewhat predictable course. With a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Texas A&M University in 1966 and a Master of Science from N.C. State University in 1970, Tom found that his most fulfilling assignments involved managing people … initially as a project manager then as business development manager where he emphasized the capabilities of people to win new contracts. Tom’s passion for people eventually won out as he left a comfortable position as VP Business Development for a major energy services firm to found Visible Applause, Inc., dedicated to acknowledging achievements in a way that has meaning and significance … thus satisfying our human desire for meaning, belonging and appreciation.
Tom and his wife Nancy, of 41 years, and has two grown children and four grandchildren. He is a member of Greater Houston Partnership, the Business Advisory Council of Goodwill Industries of Houston and a member of CEO Netweavers, an organization dedicated to espousing the principles of servant leadership and CEOs in transition.
