Public Policy Announcement – Contact Your Senator Now!

Support the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act of 2010 — Contact Your Senator NOW! Take Action!

Access to credit is a critical issue for small business. H.R.5297 – the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act of 2010 – will create the Small Business Lending Fund Program directing the Secretary of the Treasury to make capital investments in eligible institutions to increase the availability of credit for small businesses. It would also result in amendments to the Internal Revenue Code to provide tax incentives for small business job creation.

It is imperative that you urge your Senator to support the effort to bring this bill to the floor immediately and to vote YES for its passage.

Can you take a moment to call your Senator right now to ask for his/her support of H.R.5297, which would give businesses like yours better access to credit?

Enter your zip code into the Call Now box to access your Senators’ contact information.

Thank you for your support of issues that will help power the success of the women’s business community!

Make a call to your Senator, NOW

Use the Talking point below, when you call your Senator.

Dear

I am, __________________________, I am a women-business owner and I own __________in the____ district number.

I am also __(your position in the organization_)__of NAWBO Houston and NAWBO National.

I am calling to ask you to support HR 5297, the Small Business Jobs and Credit Act.  As a small business owner and a woman-owned business, it is always a challenge to gain access to credit in loans, trade credits or bank credits.  According, to the SBA,  “small businesses account for half of all US private-sector employment and produced 64% of net job growth in the United States between 1993 and 2008. We create 2 out of 3 new jobs in America.  HR 5297 will help us have easier access to bank credits that will help us expand our businesses. With businesses expansion, leads to job creation, and job creation means faster economic growth. The President touted small businesses to be “the backbone of our economy and the cornerstones of our communities” in his last public speech in Seattle, Washington, Aug. 17, 2010.

We urge you,  Mr./Madame  Senator  ___________to support HR 5297 by passing it in the Senate. Supporting in favor of HR 5297 means giving your confidence to small business owners and women-business owners like me and acknowledging small businesses as  a strong partner in the country’s economic recovery.

Thank you for this opportunity to hear me on these issues that help empower women business owners.
